Coffee Crawl: Drip, The Beverage Lab

Do we still love coffee? The answer is yes! And we’re back with another infamous Coffee Crawl post to prove it! This time we’re going to be talking about a recent newcomer to my life, Drip. Actually located in Owasso, Oklahoma–for those of you non-natives, it’s about thirty minutes outside of Tulsa–Drip’s friendly atmosphere and helpful staff make it well worth the drive out.

Drip is on the smaller side when it comes to the coffee shops we’ve seen so far. But they definitely don’t highlight this disadvantage. There are tables lining every wall available and two large ones parked right in the middle for those big get-togethers with friends or family. During certain holidays, Drip decorates the store in festive pumpkins or snowy wreaths. It’s a small touch for every table and window, but one that goes a long way for regulars and those stopping by for the first time. I never fail to notice these fun details. Another aspect I absolutely love about Drip is all the natural lighting that comes in from the two almost ceiling tall windows at the front. It brings a brightness into the coffee shop that also opens up the space so it feels much bigger than it actually is.

Drip sits right next to the highway on a main street in Owasso. It’s location makes it very easy to spot when you’re just driving through. No worries about parking though–there are two huge lots right around the back of the building.

Coffee is the most important part of a coffee shop, right? Well Drip has no shortage of options. Right alongside decor, the cafe also switches out certain items on their menu depending on the season. They’ve done everything from your traditional pumpkin flavored lattes to simple fall teas. And they’re moving right along to peppermint drinks and dark chocolate treats. Now that doesn’t mean they don’t also have all the classics–cappuccinos, cold brews, and more. They also have a variety of sandwiches, bagels, and even crepes. I’ve also seen they’re smoothie list, but I haven’t quite worked my way to that part of the menu just yet.

The staff at Drip are some of the best I’ve ever encountered at a coffee shop. Not only are they committed to answering your questions about their products, but they’re also really good at forming those subtle connections with their customers. Now it’s very possible that I’m only noticing this here because I literally spend three out the seven days a week typing away on my computer at one of their tables. But I will say after only a handful of visits, some of the baristas already knew my name and order by heart. And they make conversation with so many of the people that filter through here. It’s another one of those small details that can honestly go a long way.

Overall, Drip gets a 9/10 from me. Like I mentioned, it’s farther from home, and that’s the biggest mark against it for me. But every time I go, I’m never disappointed. A perfect score isn’t entirely out of the cards for this clever cafe.
