So I did a thing… I graduated! Yeah, you heard right! This girl is a college graduate! It’s time for me to move out into the real world and become a certified adult! Yeah…scary. I’ll admit–I’ve never been more anxious and unsure about what the world has to bring me now that I’m making these big and important choices about my career and the type of life I want to live. I don’t have a plan–nothing aside from finding a job, and that’s not exactly an instantaneous thing. So I’m left feeling like a loose balloon, not really sure where the wind is going to blow me.
That aside, it’s just as exciting as it is nerve-wracking. Because this is also the first time in my life that I’m completely rootless. I can work or study, travel or move, and there’s something really beautiful about reaching this point in my life. For the last four years I’ve worked so hard just to get my foot in the door. But the great thing is that I have the top floor to look forward to and so many different ways to get myself there.
They say this is the best time to find yourself, and I couldn’t be more ready to do just that. I want to … I mean, I could be completely wrong about this young adult life. You almost thirty-somethings could be laughing your heads off, reminiscing about when you thought you were going to conquer the world right out of college. But what do we have to base these fantasies off of but movies anyway? Let me dream!
You might be wondering, “So what’s the plan, Sam? Are you going to get a job? Are you going back to school? Are you just going to Rory Gilmore it for the next year?” Those are all great questions. And the truth is, I don’t know. I’m looking at jobs right now, copy and content writing mostly because that’s obviously where my skills are at. But I’m also putting more focus on my passions and projects. It’s no secret I haven’t been able to devote as much time as I should to this blog. But if I keep telling myself it’s important to me and it’s something I want to grow and develop, I need to put the time and the work into it.
That’s probably really exciting for my loyal followers and avid readers out there—at least, I hope it is. So make sure to keep an eye out for all of my new posts here on samanthasabio, but also a new creative social media account for the blog, some freelance articles, and a possible published and purchase-able book! I’ll always keep you updated here, so if you want to keep up with my fabulous new jet-setting life, this is the best place for all that news. Just don’t tell TMZ.
In fact, in a few weeks I’m heading back across the pond for another European vacation (link here: Around the World in Eight Days)! I’m going to be chronicling every day of this super exciting trip and I’m definitely going to be posting updates here, so subscribe for those if aren’t already! There may or may not be another video series as well (there probably will be because I just can’t get enough of those things)!
