“Avengers: Infinity War,” WHAT’S GOING ON???

With less than a month before it’s release, I thought I would devote one of these posts to my thoughts on the next chapter in the Marvel series, Avengers: Infinity War. Before I start, I just want to make it known that I’m not, by any means, a leading expert on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I simply enjoy the films and the characters and the story. So everything I’m about to say is really just my way of getting my excitement out there. Fan girl with me! Oh, and this may go without being said, but possible spoilers ahead.

So a little information for those of you who know nothing about the upcoming film. From what I understand, Infinity War takes place two years after the events of Captain America: Civil War.

[Captain America: Civil War is another thing- while it feels like another Avengers film, it’s really the third segment to the Captain America trilogy. Basically, the return of Captain America’s turbulent best friend, Bucky Barnes, messes with the dynamic of the team at large- especially when he harbors such an unfortunate past. Events transpire, and all of this forces the Avengers to decide how they want to move forward].

The trailer (which can be found at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZfuNTqbHE8) is dramatic and enthralling, but doesn’t really tell you much about what’s going to be in the film. The characters are in such different places at the end of Civil War. Is this first part going just going to be set up to get them all in the same place for the second part (did I mention that this is just the first part of a two-part project)? That’s been one of my worries about this film, but there’s been some reassurance that that won’t be the case.

What about the Guardians of the Galaxy characters? The merge is finally taking place, but how is it going to happen? They meet with Thor in space and then he takes them to the Avengers? Also, Thanos? I get the Infinity Stones and why he’s after them, but have we really seen much of him before this film? Will we even see him in this film? And how did he find them??? What is that think Peter Parker is holding onto in the sky?! I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!

My congratulations to the people at Marvel for putting such a magnificent project like this together. They just celebrated their tenth year working on this series and man has it been a whirlwind. I might not know a lot about where Avengers: Infinity War is taking us, but I know it’s going to be a crazy good ride!
