Let’s face it- not every summer night can be spent shopping at Prada or partying on the Strip. But that doesn’t mean your nights in have to be dull. One of the easiest and best ways to spice up your night in is inviting a couple friends over and making it a party.
Now, I know it sounds I’m favoring the ladies a little bit, but I promise I don’t mean to shut any gentlemen out. Believe it or not, there are actually a couple ideas on here that are fit for a guys night in too. Don’t put up with boring nights alone, turning in early. Consider these Seven Suggestions for a Girls Night In!
No night in is complete without throwing a two-hour film in the mix. Put on a classic rom-com, like Love Actually or Sleepless in Seattle, or the latest superhero film (I got you, guys), make a couple bowls of popcorn, open up a bottle of Bordeaux, and cuddle under piles of blankets and plush pillows. You don’t even have to change out of those pajamas you’ve been wearing all day!
Who says you can’t treat yourself during a night in? Invite your girlfriends over for a spa night! Catch up on the latest gossip while filing away those calluses or shaping your eyebrows. You were probably going to end up at an expensive spa with them anyway, paying your hard earned dollars for the same treatments. You might as well hang out in the comfort of someone’s home learning how to make your own face masks instead.
If you’re a fan of competition, this one’s for you! Whether it’s a board game, a video game, or a backyard game, any kind of activity sparking rivalry is sure make for an unforgettable evening. Place bets and make it interesting—losers have to do the other’s laundry for a month!
Cookies and cake—do you need any more reason to host a bake night? Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be good at baking to make a night out of it. Half-baked cupcakes are half the fun! Just be wary of food fight breakouts—somebody’s going have to clean that.
Now’s the time to try out all those Pinterest crafts you’ve saving. The great thing about crafting is that it’s always so easy to put on some music or a film while you’re unleashing your inner Van Gogh.
Summer is the season for getting in shape. And what better way to get that summer body than with your best friends. Try some yoga or some zumba instead of simply running on the treadmill—it won’t get boring if you switch it up every once in a while. And doing this a couple times every week could really make a difference! Panama City Beach here we come!
