  • I’m torn between mentioning Minneapolis for its classic city charms and favoring the bare beauty of Voyageurs National Park. But that’s the thing with a state like Minnesota — you can have both. And both really are worth the visit.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul

Called the Twin Cities by local Minnesotans, Minneapolis and Saint Paul are two of the most populous and most visited cities in the state. Known for their diverse culture, harsh winters, and stunning landmarks touring the Twin Cities is a must for any Minnesota traveler.

Like most metro areas, there is no shortage of stays. Travelers can find everything from boutique to branded hotels and accommodations throughout, especially in either downtown area. There are plenty of flights in and out too. Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) services both domestic and international flights. And of course, there’s always something to do. Choose between shopping at the Mall of America, breathing in the artistic sights, walking along the river or around one of the many lakes, and so much more.

Winters can be wild in Minnesota as a whole, so come prepared for the cold.
