Traveling in Illinois
One of the main attractions for traveling in Illinois is the windy Chicago.
- Like any other big city, Chicago is often crowded and expensive to travel through, so plan and budget accordingly
- Set aside roughly $200 per person per day when traveling in Chicago
Illinois has other desired travel destinations, notably on Route 66.
- Joliet is a main stop near the start of the Mother Road, and it capitalizes well on this connection
- Set aside roughly $150 per person per day when traveling in Joliet
- Litchfield is another smaller Route 66 stop in Illinois with a few timely Route 66-related restaurants and activities
